Vers une Stratégie de conservation pour le macaque de Barbarie en Algérie

Le seul primate natif qui survie en Afrique du Nord, le macaque de Barbarie ou singe magot (Macaca sylvanus) est aussi la seule espèce de primate qui habite en Europe (Gibraltar). Il est également le seul membre du genre Macaca trouvé à l'extérieur de l'Asie. Des chercheurs, des experts internationaux en conservation et des représentants du gouvernement algérien se réuniront du 26 au 28 mai de 2015 en Algérie pour un Atelier de travail ayant comme objectif l’élaboration d’une stratégie et d'un plan d’action agréé par toutes les parties prenantes pour la conservation de cette espèce « En Danger » selon la Liste Rouge de l’UICN. …

Acciónatura, Miembro de UICN, ha formalizado la preservación efectiva a 25 años de 14.000 m2 del hayedo centenario de "Els Graus", en el Ripollès (Girona, España). Mediante una compensación económica de 2.479 euros, la propiedad cede a Acciónatura los derechos de explotación forestal para 25 años de esta reserva forestal, ahora ya destinada a conservar el bosque maduro, dejándola a evolución natural. Al ser una zona muy frágil, y para preservar sus valores, por el momento no es visitable abiertamente. …
