IUCN NL Committee disagrees with ODA policy

Prompted by a budget cut for Official Development Assistance (ODA), the Dutch government has announced that ecosystems and the environment will no longer be at the core of its development aid. IUCN National Committee of The Netherlands (IUCN NL) regrets this decision.

The Committee has launched an effort to convince Members of Parliament (MPs) and the Dutch government that restoring ecosystems in Southern countries is the best way to improve local livelihoods, as well as secure the supply of sustainable natural resources for businesses in the Netherlands and worldwide.
