Wildlife and Nature Protection Society of Sri Lanka (WNPS)

Established in 1894, the society is one of Sri Lanka 's largest Non-Governmental Organizations at the forefront of conservation in all its forms. Key areas include, Protected Area management through representation as a member on the Government's Fauna and Flora Protection Advisory Committee and community and youth education through the society's School Nature Clubs. Since 1936, the society's journal "Loris" is published bi-annually.

Green Movement of Sri Lanka (GMSL)
The Green Movement of Sri Lanka (GMSL) is an organization concerned with Environmental Conservation and Awareness Creation. It is a consortium with 147 non-governmental organizations, community based organizations and other groups involved in natural resource management. The GMSL envisions the achievement of natural resource based sustainable development through the empowerment of the poorest sections of the population and conservation of the environment through activities aimed at developing vibrant and sustainable communities throughout the island. During 2005, GMSL worked on recovery, reconstruction and rehabilitation activities after the tsunami.
