An environment prize has been established under the annual Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Awards for the first time in Viet Nam this year by IUCN.

The aim of the prize is to raise awareness of the importance of environmental protection and ecosystem conservation for sustainable development in the Vietnamese business community.

The CSR environmental prize targets Vietnamese footwear and garment industries and is organized in collaboration with the Viet Nam Agenda 21 Office and the Viet Nam Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Business Office for Sustainable Development.

The prestigious prize aims to: i) Promote best practices of CSR such as working condition, health care benefits, as well as environmental protection; and, ii) Formulate business networks dedicated to integrating sustainable development practices into business operations.

The CSR Awards Ceremony will be hosted in December 2007 in Hanoi with support from IUCN..
