The recently restructured IUCN Vietnam is entering a new period of productivity. As the amount of staff has been streamlined, each member has taken on more responsibility.
Julia Plevin, a recent graduate of Dartmouth College, has joined IUCN VN as the communications focal point on a Princeton in Asia Fellowship. She is an expert in social networking and web 2.0. In addition to her other duties, she plans to add more multimedia to the IUCN website.
Two people have changed positions within the office. Mr. Robert Julian Mather, head of County Group 1, which includes Viet Nam, Cambodia and Laos, will act as the Country Representative for Vietnam. Also, Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy is now Head of Administration and Human Resources.
We are sorry to accept the resignation of the following staff members:
Dr. Vu Van Trieu, who held the position of Country Representative.
Ms. Tran Minh Phuong, who has done impressive work organizing the Mekong Region Water Dialogues initiative, and will hopefully continue to act as a consultant for other water issues.
Mr. Nguyen Van Manh, who served as the security officer and messenger for our office.
Mr. Vu Dinh Hung, who worked as the manager of Human Resources .
We highly appreciate their contributions to IUCN VN and know they will succeed in their future endeavors. We wished them heartfelt goodbye with an evening of food and karaoke on September 15.
