This course is designed for people who:

  • work in heritage management and conservation
  • need English at work
  • want to improve their language and communication skills.

    If you work in:

     
  • the management of World Heritage Sites or conservation areas
  • national or international heritage or conservation organisations
  • local heritage tourism services, museums or visitor attractions

    …and you need English to:

     
  • communicate with international colleagues or visitors
  • write official reports, presentations or websites
  • discuss heritage and conservation issues

    The programme includes:

     
  • consolidation and improvement of communication skills focused on heritage issues and participant needs
  • visits to World Heritage Sites - Bath, Stonehenge/Avebury, Jurassic Coast
  • discussions on policy and practice with local professionals
  • visits to museums, historic buildings and regeneration sites
  • opportunities for cultural activities - theatres, art galleries, concerts

    You will meet local professionals and discuss heritage and conservation issues. You will carry out language activities (on-site and in the classroom) designed to develop your skills and confidence.
