En décembre 2011, la CEDEAO a validé les lignes directrices sur les grandes infrastructures hydrauliques en Afrique de l’Ouest. En attendant l’adoption d’une Directive Cadre qui en découlera, et pour en favoriser l’application sur le terrain dès à présent, le Centre de Coordination des Ressources en Eau (CCRE) de la CEDEAO et l’Union internationale pour la conservation de la nature (UICN) ont organisé deux ateliers au Ghana et Cote d’Ivoire pour la promotion de bonnes pratiques pour l’appropriation de ces lignes directrices par les acteurs nationaux. …

UNEP IKM Steering Committee Meeting

The MEA Information and Knowledge Management (IKM) Initiative Steering Committee met for the 6th time to discuss and agree on standards and improvements in information management, outlining the synergies between UNEP affiliated Multilateral Environmental Agreements and providing information for better policy and decision making. IUCN participated in this meeting in its capacity as longstanding observer to the initiative, as ECOLEX partner and as project consultant. The IUCN Environmental Law Centre developed a thesaurus of approx. 500 concepts (including additional synonyms, definitions, translations and alignments to controlled vocabularies of affiliated Multilateral Environmental Agreements) which was presented during the launch of the new search interface LEO (Law and Environment Ontology), an information system which envisages to present MEA COP decisions, national reports and e-learning tools together with treaty information, legislation, literature and court decisions harvested from ECOLEX. …
