IUCN Ghana Country Agreement Signed and Received

The IUCN Ghana country agreement has been signed. The agreement was officially presented to IUCN on 13th November, 2012 in Accra, by the Chief Director of the Ministry of lands and natural resources, Prof. Bruce Banoeng-Yakubo, on behalf of the sector minister. Prof. Aimé Nianogo, Regional Director for IUCN-PACO Regional Programme, received the agreement on behalf of IUCN and the Director General, Julia Marton-Lefevre.
This agreement will further boost the collaboration between IUCN and Ghana. Specifically IUCN activities will include: (i) Providing support to the Government of Ghana, in defining and implementing conservation and sustainable development policies, strategies, programmes or projects; (ii) Providing support to IUCN members and to other partners in promoting and strengthening conservation and sustainable development activities; and (iii) Undertaking complementary capacity building activities, and specifically those involving training, information management and communication.
