The value of nature and the services it offers us, from purifying water through freshwater systems to supplying cures for life threatening diseases, cannot be undervalued. Yet the business and financial community can be slow to put a price on what we normally see as being free.
Pavan Sukhdev has been keen to right this wrong producing the Stern-like report, The Economics of Ecosystems and Biodiversity Loss. He's Grounded in the business establishment, working as Managing Director and Head of Deutsche Bank's Global Markets Business in India, he explains just why we need to put a price on nature.
