Finding ways for businesses to become more involved in helping to halt and reverse the current loss of biodiversity will be the main focus of the International Business and Ecosystems Dialogue, which will take place on Tuesday 26th Oc tober in Nagoya, Japan. The economic costs of losing the planet's biodiversity

As the world continues to deal with the impact of the global economic crisis, the link between the economy and the natural world has never been more critical. In Nagoya, Japan, at the 10th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity, or CBD, the latest findings of The Economics of Ecosystems and Biodiversity (TEEB) study will be presented, with experts hoping to highlight the growing cost of biodiversity loss and degradation of the natural environment.

The world's "Big Plan" to save all life on earth

This month thousands of delegates will be attending a conference in Nagoya, Japan to discuss a “big plan” for the next ten years to reduce the current pressures on all life on earth, the planet’s biodiversity. On the table at the 10th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity, or CBD, are 20 targets designed to prevent the extinction crisis and restore the earth’s natural environment.
