Conservation Priorities for Medicinal Plants

The photograpic images of medicinal plant species on our web pages are the property of photographers Deni Bown and A.B. Cunningham, and are linked to a set of WWF-UK factsheets currently found on the WWF-UK Plant Programme website.

The 14 plants featured in the factsheets are either endangered species or are included because of their recent popularity. These factsheets give a description of the plant, its geographic distribution and habitat, parts used, uses, sources of plant material and trade, legal protection, conservation assessment and conservation recommendation. Each factsheet has a small reference list and bibliography for further reading. These factsheets were written by Julia Behrens, Susanne Schmitt and Alan Hamilton of WWF-UK.
