An Inventory of Brazilian Wetlands
Antonio Carlos S. Diegues
The inventory of Brazilian Wetlands is a preliminary synthesis
of relevant information for evaluating the importance of these ecosystems
as well as the various environmental threats to these areas which
occur in Brazil. This study also provides some preliminary data
to assess the ecological and economic value of these areas. The
inventory is principally directed towards researchers, students,
professionals and environmentalists as well as social groups interested
in the preservation, conservation and sustainable use of Brazilian
wetlands.
