Carole Martinez speaks up for Europe Overseas

Listen to Carole Martinez, Project coordinator for IUCN’s Europe Overseas Programme, talk about the challenges faced by Europe’s overseas entities on French radio station Rédaction Radio. Recorded at the European Parliament in May, Carole makes the case for a dedicated European funding mechanism to support conservation work in European overseas entities.
The programme involved a debate and discussion with Carole and both Jean Philippe Palasi, Director of European Union Policy at Conservation International, and MEP Mauris Ponga, of the European People’s Party and a member of the European Parliament’s Development Committee.
The show focused in on the first outcomes of the European Commission’s BEST Preparatory action and also the importance of having a dedicated tool for supporting nature conservation actions in the EU Overseas.
