The IUCN SSC Wildlife Health Specialist Group (WHSG) is a volunteer network of over 300 veterinary, health and conservation experts located in 50 countries. The WHSG provides advice on health and disease issues to government agencies, conservation organizations and zoos across the world.

The WHSG provides information on all aspects of wildlife health such as the prevention and control of disease, captive breeding, re-location and the care of animals that have been affected by events such as oil spills. Concerned with the health of both wild and captive populations of species the WHSG has an important role in conservation.
