Boat cruises in Ha Long Bay

IUCN has a long history in Viet Nam since it supported the government in the preparation of the first National Conservation Strategy in 1984. Since then, IUCN has made significant contributions to biodiversity conservation and environmental protection, particularly through the development of laws and policies.

IUCN Viet Nam focuses its work on the following thematic programmes: Business and Biodiversity, Forest ConservationProtected Area and World Heritage, Marine and Coastal Ecosystems, Water and Wetlands and Environmental Governance.

Asia shrimp farmers restock mangrove "supermarket" by going organic

A recent article published by Thomson Reuters Foundation highlights how the introduction of organic shrimp production in Thailand thanks to the Mangroves and Markets project is stemming mangrove degradation and protecting delicate ecosystems.  The project is funded by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMUB).  An excerpt from the article can be found below, including a link to the full article on the Thomson Reuters Foundation website.
