Up the road from Rio - fresh forests and green jobs

New mangrove finch fledglings
During the last breeding season of the Galapagos Islands' mangrove finch, the SOS project team identified at least 13 fledged nests out of which have emerged around 19 juveniles. This is a real boost for the population which is thought to number only around 100 individuals. The SOS-funded project aims to protect the Critically Endangered Mangrove Finch (Camarhynchus heliobates) by extending the bird's natural range and protecting its habitat, the mangrove forests. …

Le Congo célèbre la 40ième journée Internationale de l’Environnement
Le 05 Juin 2012 denier a connu la célébration de la journée mondiale de l’environnement sous le thème « L’économie verte en faites-vous partie ? ». Cette fête internationale s’est vue manifestée de plusieurs façons dans diverses régions de la planète. Le Département de la Sangha au Congo n’était pas en marge et a prévu à cet effet plusieurs activités, parmi lesquelles :
- La marche verte ponctuée à la fin par un plaidoyer, le 04-Juin-2012 ;
- Une tribune radio télévisée de 2h00, le 04-Juin-2012 ;
- Un Focus sur la thématique en objet, le 05-Juin-2012.
