World Environmental Education Congress: June 2013, Marrakesh

Since 2003, thousands of people around the world have participated in the WEEC (World Environmental Education Congress).

Next year will mark the tenth year since the first Congress was held in Espinho (Portugal) in 2003 and we will find ourselves together again in Marrakesh (Morocco) for the Seventh WEEC, from 9 to 14 june 2013.

We are working hard so that this coming Congress will be interesting and fruitful. As always, the focus of attention will be on all themes relative to environmental education and all the protagonists − academics, those from civil and industrial society – will be welcomed.

Moreover, for the first time, a WEEC is being held in a country with an Arab - Muslim culture, and for the first time a theme (the relation between city and countryside in search of harmony) will be the object of great transversal attention across all the thematic areas, obviously without ignoring all the other themes.

We have tried very hard to keep the enrolment costs down. Morocco is a destination that is relatively inexpensive and of exceptional natural and cultural interest, so we hope to be in large numbers in Marrakesh in less than one year.

I hope that you will renew the interest you have already shown for the WEEC and that you can participate in the important appointment of 2013: visit the website www.weec2013.org and, if you can, give us a hand in publicizing the news of the WEEC 2013 to your contacts and in newspapers and magazines, websites, blogs, Facebook profiles, etc.

Depuis 2003 jusqu’à aujourd’hui des milliers des personnes, de tout le monde, ont participé aux WEEC (World Environmental Education Congress).

L’année prochaine nous pourrons fêter les 10 ans depuis le premier congrès à Espinho (Portugal) en 2003 et nous allons nous retrouver à Marrakech (Maroc) pour le Septième WEEC, du 9 au 14 juin 2013.

Nous sommes en train de travailler afin que ce congrès puisse être riche et intéressant. Comme d’habitude, tous les thèmes en lien avec l’éducation à l’environnement feront l’objet d’une attention particulière et tous les acteurs, académiques, de la société civile et institutionnelle, seront les bienvenus.

De plus, pour la première fois, un WEEC sera organisé dans un pays de culture arabo-musulmane et, pour la première fois, un thème (la relation entre ville et campagne, à la recherche d’une meilleure harmonie) fera l’objet d’une grande attention transversale à toutes les aires thématiques, sans exclure, bien évidemment, tous les autres thèmes.

Nous avons fait beaucoup d’efforts pour minimiser les frais d’inscription et le Maroc est déjà en soi une destination pas trop chère avec une attractivité naturelle et culturelle extraordinaire.

Donc, nous souhaitons vraiment vous retrouver très nombreux à Marrakech d’ici moins d’un an.

Desde 2003 hasta hoy miles de personas desde todo el mundo han participado a los WEEC ((World Environmental Education Congress).

El año que viene celebramos diez año desde el primer congreso, organizado en Espinho (Portugal) en 2003 y nos encontraremos en Marrakech (Marruecos) para el 7.° WEEC, desde el 9 hasta el 14 junio 2013.

Estamos trabajando para que sea un congreso fertil e interesante. Como de costumbre, todos los temas relacionados con la educación ambiental seran objeto de atención y todos los protagonistas, académicos, de la sociedad civil e institucionales, serán bienvenidos. Por la primera vez, además, el WEEC ocurrirá en un país de cultura arabe-musulmana y por la primera vez un tema (la relación entre ciudades y campos, buscando una armonía) será objeto de una grande atención transversal a todas las áreas temáticas, sin dejar afuera, por cierto, todos los otros temas.

Hicimos todo lo posible para que la cuotas de inscripción sean bajas y Marruecos es un destino económico y de muy grande atractiva natural y cultural.

En breve, esperamos ser muchos en Marrakech dentro de menos de un año.

Dal 2003 a oggi migliaia di persone da tutto il mondo hanno partecipato ai WEEC (World Environmental Education Congress).

L’anno prossimo saranno dieci anni dal primo congresso tenuto a Espinho (Portogallo) nel 2003 e ci ritroveremo a Marrakech (Marocco) per il Settimo WEEC, dal 9 al 14 giugno 2013.

Stiamo lavorando perché sia un congresso ricco e interessante. Come sempre, tutti i temi relativi all’educazione ambientale saranno oggetto di attenzione e tutti i protagonisti, accademici, della società civile e istituzionali, saranno i benvenuti. Per la prima volta, inoltre, un WEEC si tiene in un paese di cultura arabo-musulmana e per la prima volta un tema (il rapporto tra città e campagne, in cerca di una maggiore armonia) sarà oggetto di una grande attenzione trasversale a tutte le aree tematiche, senza escludere, ovviamente, tutti gli altri temi.

Abbiamo fatto un grosso sforzo per contenere le quote di iscrizione e il Marocco è una meta non costosa e di eccezionale attrattiva naturale e culturale.

Insomma, ci auguriamo di ritrovarci molto numerosi a Marrakech tra poco meno di un anno.
