GLOBE EU, the Global Legislators Organization for a Balanced Environment, and its partners, the Global Footprint Network and The Nature Conservancy are organizing an event at the European Parliament next week to mark the Earth Overshoot Day 2013, the day on which societies have globally consumed the resources of the planet for the present year.

The event will bring together academics, representatives from the civil society, forward-looking businesses and international organizations to discuss on how to prevent the Earth Overshoot Day from happening earlier and earlier every year, and how to limit the negative effects of human action which lead to the crossing of the planetary boundaries.

The event will take place on Tuesday 17 September 2013, from 15.00 to 18.00. To register, please contact Andrea Teftedarija, GLOBE EU Coordinator at sirpa.pietikainen-office@europarl.europa.eu.
