Fundación para la Conservación e Investigación JAPU
The JAPU is a non-profit organization focused on the conservation and restoration of Ecuador's Tropical Dry Forest. Since 2020, we have led groundbreaking scientific research on biodiversity, focusing on iconic species such as the jaguar and puma. We have created the most comprehensive biodiversity inventory of the Tropical Dry Forest in the last 40 years, with data uploaded to GBIF, and we are promoting the creation of ecological corridors to connect fragmented habitats. Our work also promotes environmental education, community participation, sustainable land management, and the improvement of local livelihoods through ecotourism, agroforestry, and participatory scientific initiatives.
