Contributing to Global Biodiversity Goals
Running until June 2029, SOS Lemurs Phase II aims to strengthen conservation efforts for lemurs through financial support, capacity building, and partnerships with local civil society organisations.
By implementing actions to preserve lemur populations and ensure the sustainable use of biodiversity, the initiative contributes to the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF), particularly Target 4, which focuses on preventing species extinction.
In line with the Sustainable Development Goals and the global ambition to protect 30% of nature by 2030, SOS Lemurs supports efforts to reduce deforestation, restore habitats, and promote sustainable livelihoods for local communities.
About IUCN Save Our Species
