MozWateR Project Partners Meet in Beira to Strengthen Capacity Building in Monitoring, Evaluation and Communication
Beira, Sofala, the city of Beira hosted, from 12 to 15 May, an integrated workshop on Monitoring and Evaluation, Communication promoted by IUCN - International Union for Conservation of Nature, as part of the implementation of the Mainstreaming an Integrated Water Resources Management Approach for More Resilient Basins in Mozambique (MozWateR).
The training brought together focal points from the Monitoring and Evaluation, Communication areas, as well as representatives of the project's Implementing Partners, with
a purpose of strengthening the IPs technical capacities in monitoring, communicating and presenting the results of the MozWateR project, focusing on digital tools for data analysis and visualization, such as Power BI and ESRI Experience.
In the opening session, the Chief of Party of the MozWateR project, Agostinho Bento, highlighted that, in the end of four days of training, the participants will have opportunity to deepen their knowledge about the project management. The project includes practical sessions in analysing and interpreting data, storytelling applied to maps and indicators, as well as the validation of developed digital products. According to the official, these skills are fundamental to make known, in a clear and effective way, the importance and impacts of the project among the communities of Central and Northern regions of the country.
In turn, the Director General of ARA-Centro, IP, Hilário Pereira, underlined the relevance of the meeting, encouraging the participants to be actively involved throughout the training, to contribute to the acceleration of the fulfilment of the project's evaluation indicators.
