Khor Al Adaid Nature Reserve

The project aims to provide technical support and advisory to Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MECC) in Qatar for Technical Support for Khor Al-Adaid Nature Reserve, in the framework of potential Nomination to the UNESCO World Heritage List.

The objectives of the project are to:

  1. Providing advisory and technical guidance on protection and management of site to the MOCC who will be preparing a detailed nomination dossier for the inscription of Khor Al-Adaid Nature Reserve on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
  2. Enhance Conservation and Recognition: Elevate the protection and international recognition of Khor Al Adaid, promoting its sustainable management and aligning with Qatar’s environmental goals.
  3. Build Capacity: Conduct training and capacity-building activities for the protected areas' management team to ensure the effective preparation and management of the site.
  4. Align with IUCN Green List Standards: Integrate the site’s management with IUCN Green List standards, promoting best practices in conservation and sustainable tourism.
