Strengthening NCW in Biodiversity conservation and PAN development

The project establishes a comprehensive, multi-year technical partnership between IUCN ROWA and NCW to strengthen Saudi Arabia's protected areas system and biodiversity conservation framework.

The project is structured around six components:

1- To enable the NCW to plan and implement conservation and development programs through the best available science-based understanding.

2- To enable the NCW to design programs for studies and field surveys that have a role in enhancing management and conservation processes

3- Adopt global standards for the governance of protected areas and their administrative effectiveness for all protected areas in KSA.

4- To build the capacities of the staff of the NCW and its partner institutions.

5- To build awareness of the value of wildlife within the community through programs that support engagement and interaction in and with protected areas and other ecosystems.
