Mainstreaming agroecological practices in restoration and conservation actions to restore land health
AFD, through the France-IUCN framework agreement, supports the implementation of IUCN agriculture and land health initiative. This proposal will leverage IUCN's strengths as a union of state and non-state actors, a reputed science-based organisation, and convenor of stakeholders in the conservation and agriculture sector to mobilise the IUCN's network and influence the public and private interventions. It will create momentum for a global consensus on agrobiodiversity in agricultural policy by promoting multi-stakeholder dialogue, strengthening global metrics to measure agrobiodiversity and encouraging its application in field projects. These actions will improve the negotiating position of the land-health-advocate community for championing land health and support agrobiodiversity-friendly initiatives at the local level.
