HLPF 2025 - Policy Brief
The HLPF is a key moment for follow up on the commitment from the Pact for the Future to scale up the implementation of the 2030 Agenda as well as strengthen the role of the HLPF as the main platform for the review of the sustainable development agenda.
The Pact for the Future, adopted in September 2024, sent a strong message on the need to scale up both implementation and financing of the 2030 Agenda. The Pact also includes a commitment strengthening the role of the HLPF as the main platform for the follow up and review of the sustainable development agenda. In addition, the HLPF follows two major UN conferences: the Third UN Ocean Conference and the Fourth UN Conference on Financing for Development.
IUCN's input for this year HLPF focus on gender, ocean, and on enhancing synergies across multilateral environmental agreements.
