WK-mascotte bedreigd in het wild
Het driebandgordeldier, de officiële mascotte voor het WK voetbal in Brazilië, wordt met uitsterven bedreigd. Dat blijkt uit de nieuwste gegevens van de IUCN Rode Lijst van bedreigde soorten. In de afgelopen 15 jaar is het totale aantal driebandgordeldieren met een derde achteruitgegaan.
