Kathy was a great leader and mentor to me. Her kind and inclusive approach to get young people like me involved in protected areas conservation will forever live in my memory. I still remember our very recent discussion and the genuine attention she gave me. I also believe that this is a sad lost for the conservation sphere, for humanity and the beautiful nature she tirelessly dedicated her life to.
I hope she will be happy of all the people like me that she inspired.
