It's such a shock and sadness to hear of Kathy's sudden departure. Such a huge loss to the conservation community. She has given so much for this planet and has been a role model for many women working in conservation. Her leadership has been outstanding. She held so many high-level important roles, especially at IUCN, yet she was always so warm, approachable and kind to people below her rank. I will always remember her smiles and inspiring conversations at all these CBD meetings. RIP Kathy!
