I am an animal physiologist and my interests focus on: 1- Studying the eco-physiological and population consequences of capturing and shearing wild guanacos to assess the sustainability of this productive activity. 2- Developing, evaluating, and transferring methodologies for the sustainable use of wild guanacos, in accordance with the concept of animal welfare, as an alternative form of production in arid areas. 3- Studying socio-productive and economic aspects with the aim of developing a productive model that improves the quality of life of low-income rural producers, based on the sustainable use of guanacos and the appropriation of technological innovations. Based on these lines of work, the methodologies I use most are those that estimate different population parameters through terrestrial and aerial surveys using drones. I also use different methodologies for hormone quantification in blood and feces. Finally, I use different survey methodologies to obtain socioeconomic data related to productive activities.
