I am a conservation biologist, and my work focuses on building science-based evidence to reverse biodiversity loss and promote coexistence. My conservation efforts tend to be bottom-up approaches and solutions to protect biodiversity, ecosystem restoration and combat climate change using nature-based solutions through engagement of local communities and other stakeholders. 

For my PhD research (2014-2020), I studied how different habitat and anthropogenic factors influence Hog Deer- a highly threatened and grassland obligate species. Subsequently, I focused on how to revive the grassland ecosystem to benefit the threatened wildlife, as well as protect the ecosystem services that it provided to the local communities. 

My current work focuses on restoration of grasslands, as well as facilitating human elephant coexistence through multi-pronged approach of habitat revival, and engagement with multistakeholder. For my work I was nominated as an International Visitor Leadership Programme fellow (USA) in 2023 on climate crisis.

On a lighter note, I have a penchant for writing, and write on wildlife, and biodiversity conservation to reach out to people beyond the scientific community.
