Ms Meher Marker NOSHIRWANI
Chair
Meher Marker Noshirwani (Pakistan) is a specialist on conservation and environmental management, with a particular expertise on gender. With over 37 years of experience, she brings a unique multi stakeholder perspective to all her work. She serves as a Chair of the Specialist Group on Gender, for the IUCN Commission on Environmental, Economic, and Social Policy (CEESP) 2013 -2024. As a member of IUCN’s Pakistan National Committee she has served on the Executive Committee of the Pakistan National Committee (PNC), participated in five of IUCN’s World Conservation Congresses and has been a member of IUCN’s Commission CEESP since 2010 She has a Masters in Sociology from the University of Essex, United Kingdom, and has advanced women’s issues, gender, development, environment, and climate change, in Pakistan, the South Asia and globally. She is also the Technical Advisor to the Trust for Conservation of Coastal Resources (TCCR), a member of IUCN, managing and implementing projects on gender, environment and climate change in the coastal areas of the fishing communities along the Sindh coast in Pakistan. Meher currently serves as a Board Member and Chair on numerous committees, institutions and programs, including the Board Member of Hisaar Foundation for Water, Food and Livelihood Security and Treasurer and Board Member of The Karachi Conference Foundation.
