The CEM Climate Change and Biodiversity Policy and Practice Thematic Group aims to guide and provide expert knowledge and guidance related to:

•  Developing an innovative research agenda at multiple scales that provides timely responses to current environmental, economic, social and policy issues.

•  Identifying good practices for integrating Nature based Solutions for Climate Change adaptation and mitigation in policies and practices for various social-ecological systems.

•  Contributing in delivering recommendations to policy documents proposed by UNFCCC, CBD, IPBES and other related international conventions.

•  Contributing to setting a standard setting for carbon markets to ensure delivery of sustainable net gains of biodiversity including the protection of Indigenous rights and knowledge (this is becoming an issue where large corporations attract through nice songs Indigenous communities to “save” their lands with low money (not real price for C) and not always sustainable in the long term.
