Supporting Indigenous peoples and local community Leadership through Direct Access Financing: DGM and Inclusive Conservation Initiative

This event will showcase two examples of IPLC leadership: the Climate Investment Funds (CIF) funded Dedicated Grant Mechanism for Indigenous peoples and Local Communities (12 countries) and the GEF-7 Inclusive Conservation Initiative (9 initiatives in 12 countries). Indigenous and local community leaders will share their experiences and results obtained over the last 5 years of DGM implementation and IP priorities and experiences with GEF funding. Discussion topics include governance, strengthened participation of youth and women, and IPLC contribution to global climate and biodiversity action.
