IUCN Rwanda recognized for contributions to environmental conservation and socio-economic development in Nyagatare District of Rwanda
The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) in Rwanda has been awarded an appreciation certificate for its outstanding contributions to environmental conservation and socio-economic development in the Nyagatare District, located in Rwanda’s Eastern Province.

The recognition was presented to IUCN’s Program Officer and Hub coordinator , Mr Jean Pierre Maniriho, during this week’s Joint Action Development Forum (JADF) General Assembly.
IUCN was acknowledged for its significant support to the implementing the district performance and annual plans. IUCN is currently undertaking four projects in the Eastern Province of Rwanda, namely, TREPA, COMBIO, AREECA and DeSIRA
These initiatives are pivotal in building resilience of communities and landscapes to climate change by transforming degraded and fragile landscapes once unable to sustain livelihoods into restored ecosystems that foster resilience.
