One day training workshop on Sustainable Natural Resource Management was organized for farmer’s civil society representatives, government officials and journalists in Quetta

IUCN Balochistan Partnerships for Sustainable Development Project organized one day Training Session on “Natural Resource Management” at District Pishin.

A one – day training workshop on the subject Sustainable Natural Resource Management was organized for farmer’s civil society representatives, government officials and journalists, on Tuesday, 26th July 2011, at DC Rest House Pishin. Twenty Participants from a cross-section of the society attended the Training.

Mr.Inamullah Khan NRM Expert & Project Manager Juniper Conservation Project Ziarat  introduced Natural Resources , their Management, its types and the feasible sustainable conservation practices in the context of Pishin district.

He also shared that Sustainable Agriculture and Natural Resource Management activities seek to increase agricultural productivity through adoption of practices that maintain the long-term ecological and biological integrity of natural resources. He said that in this sub-sector cut across the rural, social, and environmental issues of natural resource management to sustain significant increases in farm productivity through the efficient use of land and other resources. The goal is to provide better economic returns to individuals and contribute towards the improved quality of life and better economic development.

Mr.Irfan Ali Bakhtiari Coordinator IWRM BPSD delivered a comprehensive presentation on Integrated Water Resource Management and its practices.

Mr. Zabardast Khan Bangash Manager IUCN Balochistan Programme delivered a meaningful lecture on   the impacts of climate change on natural resources in Balochistan and its possible adaptation and mitigation measures.

Training remained very interactive throughout the day as the participants took keen interest in all the sessions and shared the knowledge and experience in managing their natural resources. In the end certificates were awarded to all the participants.
