My work focuses on the diverse worldviews, customary values, institutions and practices of Indigenous Peoples and traditional communities and their role in socially just and ecologically effective conservation - thereby challenging prevailing norms and promoting a shift to equitable governance and rights based approaches capable of supporting human wellbeing and sustaining nature.
