Geoffrey Howard
First met in Lusaka, then off and on there and Nairobi and lastly in South Australia. A wonderfully humane guy working in his field, lots of incisive commentary about wildlife in his region - of which we saw a lot, Estelle even collected zebra and dung beetle poo, all in the interest of his research. Geoffrey and I exchanged many observations about East African birds, but he was always way ahead of me on numbers and species. We will miss him greatly
