In existence since October 2008 when it was registered as Indo-Myanmar Conservation (IMC) with the Charity Commission of England & Wales, FOW was registered with the Ministry of Home Affairs in Myanmar in January 2012. FOW has an office in Yangon and a staff of 10 Myanmar nationals. It currently implements four projects in Myanmar. The U.S. Treasury Department has granted IMC/FOW an operating license to raise funds from U.S. donors to finance conservation projects in Myanmar. IMC/FOW is a member of the World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA).
