Conservation Through Public Health

Conservation Through Public Health (CTPH) is an award winning grassroots Ugandan-based NGO that focuses on the interdependence of human and wildlife health, set up when cross species disease transmission resulted in sickness and death of wildlife. CTPH has three integrated programs: community health, wildlife conservation and alternative livelihoods. CTPH has been working in and around Bwindi Impenetrable National Park (BINP) since 2004, Queen Elizabeth National Park (QENP) since 2006, Virunga National Park (VNP) since 2008 and Pian Upe Wildlife Reserve in Karamoja, Eastern Uganda since 2013. Awards include 2008 San Diego Zoo Conservation In Action Award, 2009 Whitley Gold Award.
