Centre for Sustainable Rural Development

The Centre for Sustainable Rural Development (SRD) is a Vietnamese non-governmental organization. It was founded in March 2006, SRD inherited 28 years of experience from the International Cooperation for Development and Solidarity (CIDSE) in Vietnam, an international NGO that delivered successful development projects from 1978-2005. SRD was the first Vietnamese NGO established from an INGO under the Decision No. 281/QD-LHH of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA) . SRD's projects focus on the key areas including Sustainable Agriculture and Livelihoods; Climate Change and Disaster Risk Reduction; Forest Law Enforcement, Governance and Trade (FLEGT) ; Supporting People with Disabilities; Promoting Gender Equality and Child Protection; EU-Vietnam free trade (EVFTA); Research and advocacy in related fields. SRD is a founding member and the Chair of three NGO networks including the Network of the Vietnamese NGOs and Climate Change (VNGO-CC), the Network of the Vietnamese NGOs on FLEGT (VNGO-FLEGT) and Network of Vietnamese NGOs on EU Vietnam Free Trade Area (VNGO-EVFTA).
