Specialist Group work
AsRSG exists to promote the conservation of the three endangered rhino species in Asia – the Javan, Sumatran, and Greater One-horned rhinos.
Understanding threats to Asian Rhinos
The AsRSG holds regular meetings to review the status of rhino populations in Asia and to develop recommendations for protecting and conserving priority populations. It has also developed an Asian Rhino Conservation Plan for range countries.
Asian Rhinos on the IUCN Red List
To inform conservation efforts, AsRSG assesses species for the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species.
