IUCN SSC Network Support Microgrants

The IUCN Species Survival Commission is pleased to announce the launch of the IUCN SSC Network Support Microgrants, a small grants initiative designed to support the core operations and coordination of SSC Specialist Groups.

About this grant

The grants aim to provide core operational support to strengthen the work, coordination, and activities of IUCN SSC Specialist Groups including that of the Species Conservation Cycle related to Network, Communicate and Mobilise Resources.

  • NETWORK: Enhance and support our immediate network and alliances to achieve our biodiversity targets.
  • COMMUNICATE: Drive strategic and targeted communications to enhance our conservation impact.
  • MOBILISE RESOURCES: Capitalize our network and initiatives to catalyse on-ground projects and conservation impact.

 

Grant Amount

Grants of up to USD 5,000 are available.

Who Can Apply

Applications are open to IUCN SSC Network Chairs. Only IUCN SSC Specialist Group Chairs may submit applications on behalf of their Specialist Group. The Grants if approved, will be processed to the Specialist Group’s designated account / fiscal sponsor. 

 
Priority

Priority will be given to:

  • Newly established Specialist Groups (less than 4 years old)
  • Specialist Groups with less than USD 10,000 in external funding as declared in the SSC Chair’s Questionnaire. 

Only one grant may be awarded per Specialist Group per year.

Application timeline

Applications will be open round the year once launched in June, subject to availability of funds.
