Dr Sanjay MOLUR
A career conservationist by profession, I lead a team of dedicated conservationists at Zoo Outreach Organisation with the objective of promoting species, ecosystem, and livelihood conservation through participatory, inclusive, and bottom-up approach working with all relevant aspects and stakeholders using science as an objective basis. I have been working in this field for over three decades and have contributed to conservation actions, policy, guidelines, tools, techniques in India, South Asia, and globally.
More about the Specialist Group
As the name implies, the mission of the IUCN SSC South Asian Invertebrate Specialist Group is to encourage and assist invertebrate specialists in South Asia and make them an appreciation and conservation region for invertebrates on a species, genetic, and habitat level.
Specialist Group work
The priority is to document information for species that require attention and to prioritise some important invertebrate groups that require conservation action. We are committed to educating and promoting the conservation of freshwater biodiversity in the Western Ghats.
SASISG on the IUCN Red List
To inform conservation efforts, SASISG assesses species for the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species.
