CEC partners with CinemAmbiente Environmental Film Festival

IUCN’s Commission on Education and Communication (CEC) has established a new partnership in the West Europe region with CinemAmbiente to support this impactful Environmental Film Festival in Italy.

The CinemAmbiente Environmental Film Festival was founded in 1998 in Torino to present the best international environmental films and documentaries and contribute to promoting cinema and ecological culture, with several activities throughout the year.

CEC Regional Vice-Chair for Europe, Diana Garlytska, is excited about the prospects of this partnership and the Festival program. Her planned presence at the Festival is a strategic opportunity not only to introduce the audience to the work of IUCN and the Commission, but also to present on Regional Conservation Forum for Europe, North & Central Asia.

The 2023 CinemAmbiente Festival draws a crowd.

Founded by Gaetano Capizzi, CinemAmbiete is organized by the National Cinema Museum - Maria Adriana Prolo Foundation in Torino. It has grown over the years, transforming itself from an early themed festival into a Festival that today represents the highest national reference for environmental cinema and one of the most important worldwide.

The Festival presents around 80 films each year distributed in the national and international competitive sections, in the Panorama section and in CinemAmbiente Junior, a large section dedicated to schools. CinemAmbiente also offers debates, meetings with authors, exhibitions, book presentations, theatrical performances and concerts.
