Europe's Priorities at the Congress
Europe is home to rich biodiversity and vital natural resources, yet these are declining at an unprecedented rate due to unsustainable human activities. The IUCN European Regional Office plays a key role in addressing these challenges by shaping EU policies, promoting effective regulation, and supporting conservation efforts at both national and regional levels.
In collaboration with its Members and EU institutions, the IUCN European Regional Office is working to support the implementation of key environmental legislation and policies, as well as the EU Green Deal. By leveraging IUCN’s global knowledge base and scientific expertise, we aim to protect and restore nature across Europe.
At the Congress, IUCN European Regional Office representatives will highlight the region's commitment to reversing biodiversity loss, restoring ecosystems, and strengthening the implementation of global conservation targets.
