IUCN ECARO is seeking to contract qualified and experienced candidates (Protected Area Lead Expert/Team leader) for Provision of Expert Service. The expert will provide studies and lead a team of experts to develop a vision and recommendations for the conservation of natural values in the Aoos catchment, in the Pindos region of northern Greece.

The expert will be required to:

  • develop a vision for conservation of biodiversity and ecosystem services in the Aoos River catchment (Greece) including the increase of protection of freshwater ecosystems and improvement of the management effectiveness and coordination of local protected areas; 
  • elaborate a roadmap for the most appropriate long-term protection and management, according to the IUCN standards for protected area classification and criteria in the Aoos River catchment; and
  • Lead a team of experts to undertake studies to support the final recommendations.
