Marine and Coastal Management programme at IUCN ROWA organized an Expert Consultation Meeting in Beirut, Lebanon on Thursday, July 11, 2019. This meeting was held under the activities of “Enhancing socio-ecological climate change resilience of marine and coastal systems in Lebanon” project, funded by the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Beirut, aiming at understanding the vulnerability of coastal cities to climate change-related risks in order to inform climate resilient city planning.

The Lebanon National Committee of IUCN members gathered in this meeting to discuss their contribution in the Regional Conservation Forum (RCF) that will be held in Kuwait from 9th to 11th September 2019. RCF aims at providing IUCN members a platform to engage with each other and discuss key conservation issues in west Asia region. This will be a great opportunity for members to design a solid programme to conserve nature in the region and present this in IUCN World Conservation Congress (WCC). The Congress aims to improve how we manage our natural environment for human, social and economic development which will be held from 11th to 19th June 2020 in France.
