Environmental Adjudication in the 21st Century
Judges, practitioners, and academics gathered from 11 to 12 April in Auckland (New Zealand) to discuss and debate the challenges for environmental adjudication in the coming decades.
The event was hosted by the International Forum for Environmental Judges, the Environment Court of New Zealand and the University of Otago, with generous support from the Royal Society of New Zealand. Among eminent speakers, Ben Boer (former WCEL Deputy Chair) focused on environmental courts and tribunals and the environmental rule of law (see the IUCN World Declaration on the Environmental Rule of Law) and Denise Antolini (WCEL Deputy Chair) reflected on the early years of the new Environmental Court in the State of Hawaii.
