شارك برنامج الأراضي الجافة والتنوع الاجتماعي وسبل العيش في الاتحاد الدولي لحماية الطبيعة مكتب غرب آسيا في مؤتمر دور الرعي المستدام في إعادة  تأهيل المراعي في  بوركينا فاسو والذي يقام بين 18-22 حزيران 2019، وذلك ضمن فعاليات مشروع الأنظمة البيئية السليمة لتنمية المراعي لضمان تمثيل المجتمعات الرعوية العربية في المحافل الدولية لحماية المراعي، حيث يهدف المؤتمر إلى تعزيز الحوار الإقليمي والدولي حول قيمة الأراضي الجافة والمراعي والفرص المتاحة لإعادة تأهيل المراعي والدور الرئيسي للرعاة في إدارة المراعي وإعادة تأهيلها على نطاق واسع.

IUCN ROWA, Drylands, Livelihoods and Gender programme participated in the Pastoralism and Rangeland Restoration conference in alignment with Desertif-actions conference in Burkina Faso between 18 and 22 June, 2019, as part of HERD project activities in order to ensure that pastoralist communities are well represented in international conferences and shared their experiences in rangelands management. The conference aims to contribute to strengthening regional and global dialogue on the values of rangelands, the opportunities for rangeland restoration and the role of pastoralists as stewards of rangeland landscapes.
