During its 99th meeting in August 2020, the IUCN Council discussed IUCN’s response to Covid-19, partly in the presence of the Chairs of the Regional Committees and a small number of National Committee Chairs from regions without a Regional Committee. No formal decisions were made at this meeting

During its 101st meeting, the IUCN Council continued the discussion about the timing of the elections for the next Council. Formal decisions on this topic were not made until the 102nd Council meeting
